Social problems refer to those issues that arise in a society on the basis of cultural beliefs, education, population demand as well as poverty. Industrialized countries are those countries that have undergone economic growth associated with industrial growth whereas developing countries are those countries that are yet to reach a level of economic and infrastructural independence.
Industrialized countries are characterized with higher environmental pollution compared to the developing countries. This is attributed to the fact in such countries; the industries emit a lot of carbon emissions that is detrimental to the environment.
Among some of the social issues that contribute to environmental pollution. Whereas it is true that developing countries have lower pollution rates, it is ironical that some of the factors that differentiate this rate are so innate in developing countries than developed ones.
Increased world population is one of the factors that contributes o environmental pollution, in many industrialized countries, there is a very high number of people compared to the resources available.
According to Nerb and Spada, the above scenario means that there is a lot of pressure exerted on the environment and as such, there is a higher rate of environmental pollution in industrialized countries. Developing countries are faces with the social problems affecting agricultural practices due to lack of advanced technology in the field. There are few industries in such countries and as such, there is a lot of waste material that is not recycled and this pose a threat o the environment. The widening gap between the rich and the poor, as well as increased production and consumption of material goods is another scenario that contributes to higher rates of pollution in industrialized countries. The population is high and this means that there must be enough production of goods and services and this has an impact on the environment.
In summary, industrialized countries have many social issues that are a threat to the environment compared to developing countries.
